19. he is a talented photographer...who captures all of our family memories!

24. he loves to take the boys on "field trips"

25. he scoops the dog poo and takes out the trash

28. he's quiet and passive and lets me make lots of the decisions....(like where we should go to dinner)

29. he will sit through a chick flick, if i beg him to!

30. he calls me throughout the day...to say hi and to check in

32. he serves at church, even though he has to rise extremely early to do it...(and he doesn't tell people that he does it)

34. he's sexy, cute, and handsome....all at the same time

happy birthday, hon. i love you as far as the east is to the west (hee hee). you are my best friend, and i am beyond blessed to be married to you. i am proud to be your wife. thank you for loving me and thank you for your commitment to the boys and me. we've been together nearly half our lives and honestly, i can't remember my life without you in it. wow! God is good...and He has been faithful to us. i praise Him and thank Him for giving you to me!! i love you so very much and i pray that your birthday is super special. can't wait for our family vacation and the memories that we will make! :)

swimmin' clips

since we don't have a pool, our kids aren't the greatest swimmers. however, we are blessed to be able to swim at our friends' homes (pretty often)...and last week marked the first time that either of our kids have taken "professional" swim lessons. my sister taught lessons for years, so she has always been great about working with the boys....but she took our niece to a wonderful instructor...and suggested we give hudson some lessons, as well. we are SO glad that we did!!

last week (was it really just last week???)....hudson got to take swim lessons from miss debbie! she has been teaching for around 30 years and she is awesome! she's done teaching for the summer, but we can't wait to visit her again next year. my sister took peytie to miss debbie for three weeks...and finally, she convinced me to take hudson. i'm so glad she did!! thank you, miss debbie, for ALL that you taught our boy! he is doing so well now, and he loves to swim. he's a little fish!

a true philippian!

last night, pastor jack assigned us some homework!

here are the steps he gave us:

1) set your alarm and get up an hour earlier than usual

2) open up God's word (start with philippians)

3) and 4) = repeat steps 1 and 2 for the rest of your life!

so, this morning....i got up early (well, earlier than i have been getting up this summer) and i got to spend over an hour in the Word, before my kids got up!! it was great....so nice and quiet.

here is some of what i learned...and this is all from ONE chapter!!

philippians 1 says i should....

*be a bondservant (1:1)

*fellowship in the gospel (1:5)

*be a partaker of grace (1:7)

*have abounding love (1:9)

*abound in knowledge and all discernment (1:9)

*be sincere and without offense (1:10)

*be filled with fruits of righteousness (1:11)

*preach Christ (1:15)

*have the attitude..."to live is Christ, to die is gain!" (1:21)

*have conduct worthy of gospel of Christ (1:27)

*stand fast in one spirit (1:27)

*with one mind strive together for the faith of the gospel (1:27)

*not in any way be terrified by my adversaries (1:28)

*not only believe in Him but suffer for His sake (1:29)

wow.....and this is only one chapter!! though the book of philippians is short, it is packed full of "nuggets" regarding my christian faith and my walk with Jesus Christ. may you be encouraged today....

we have been SO busy. in fact, i can't remember a busier month in my life!

just another day in paradise....

the boys and i met leah and her boys at the beach yesterday! it was sunny out....albeit windy. it was a cold wind, but i still managed to get fried. oops. and despite their current appearances, those are actually my children- not chimpanzees. they desperately need hair cuts!!! aahhh!! kinda makes you believe in the THEORY of evolution, doesn't it?! ha ha....totally kidding!!

my handsome date!

last night, bryson and i went on a date. i always know it's time for a date with my boy...when 98% of our relationship is "negative." now that he's home for the summer, we're spending a lot of time together. it's just that much of our time together consists of bryson getting in trouble, and me nagging/yelling. don't get me wrong....bryson is an amazing kid!! i love him more than life. he's so sweet to me and he is so bright! it's just that because bryson has a strong-willed personality (as do i), we often butt heads. we really needed some time...alone....together. bryson's location of choice was....chuck e. cheese's! we got a ton of tokens and had a blast playing games. i beat him at skee ball and basketball, and he kicked my booty on all of the video games. after that, we went to coldstone! it was a super fun night with my handsome boy!
