"School Prayer"

I received this in the form of an email today! It's a sad day in America when these things are true, considering our country was founded upon the Bible. (As you can see, I can't figure out how to get rid of the underlining!)

NEW School prayer :

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom thing..
The law is specific, the law is precise..
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
We can carry smut, but not the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Pikes Peak Park

My mom, sis, and I met at the park last week....and of course, I had to take my new toy along! Here are some photos I took with it!

Hudson is always ready to say..."Cheeeeeeese!"

Look at my cute Peytie Pie!

Bryson was chillin' in the tunnel!

Hudson....hammin' it up!

You can't really tell here, but this child has the LONGEST (most beautiful) eyelashes!

It's a miracle!! After ten tries....I actually got all three kids to look at me!

*These kiddos truly love each other! It's SO fun to watch them interact!! We had a fun day together!*

A Late Father's Day Tribute....

Oh my goodness! We have been super busy and it seems like I have had NO time to stop and write. I didn't even wish all of those special daddies a Happy Father's Day! Well, I just wanted to tell you all why I feel that I have the best dad and the most amazing husband....

My dad (George) is super smart and would do anything for me! I have never doubted his love for me or for my boys! He is very selfless, very giving, supportive, and intelligent. He is the handiest man I know and he can repair, build, and create anything. He has taught me so much over the years. Lately, I have been thinking about how my dad is a math genius....and how I SO did not get that "math gene!" I am sure my lack of smarts in that department is a frustration for my dad, but he has never made me feel badly about that. In fact, I had to take Algebra 2 so many times that I lost track. My grandpa (who passed away in Jan. of 03) was a genius also. He tried to tutor me as well. Both my dad and grandpa were always very patient with me. Sometimes.....maybe a little too patient?? I remember getting so frustrated because it would take them an hour to try to explain one concept. I must have "checked out"....but still, they kept on (trying to teach the dummy!). Well, back to my wonderful dad.....At one point, I enrolled in Algebra at a local junior college. My dad signed up for the class with me, and thought that if we did the work together....maybe I could grasp the material. That would have been about the third or fourth time I had taken the class? Let me just say that I did not pass it that time around, and my dad got the highest grade in the class (an A+)!!! All this is to say that my dad would do whatever he could to help me and support me. He took all that time out of his busy schedule, to help me! He still would and he still does. I don't think I ever properly thanked my dad for doing that for me.

Thank you, dad.....for everything you have done for me. Thank you for raising me to know the Lord, and thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for being such a hard worker and for teaching me a strong work ethic. Thank you for being a moral man and for loving mom. Thank for your taking your role as father seriously. Thank you for teaching me, even when you didn't realize you were....I love you....
Love, Kristi Lynn

On to my fabulous husband.......
Where do I begin?? Josh is so incredible and I am beyond blessed to be sharing this life with him. Anyone who knows Josh knows that he is witty and has a dry sense of humor. Anyone who knows Josh knows that he is very generous and has a sensitive heart. Anyone who knows Josh knows that he is an amazing dad to his boys....and that he is child-like himself! Josh is a hard worker and he is very ambitious. He is giving, he has a gentle spirit, and he loves his family more than life itself. He is helpful around the house, and he is incredibly handy and extremely intelligent. Josh can fix anything, and he is a Mac whiz! While spelling and grammar are not his forte, photography is. He is so talented and he captures our most amazing moments on camera. Josh is one in a million....and I am the "luckiest" girl alive!

Hon- I love you so much! You are the best dad a boy (or two) could have, and the most perfect husband a girl could ask for! You are such an incredible example for our boys. Thank you for lovingly disciplining them, and for raising them to be godly men. Our world lacks strong men these days. Thank you for loving us and for always putting us first. Thank you for sacrificing for us, and for working so hard to provide for our family. Thank you for giving us way more than we could ever need or want. Thank for your loving me- even when I am hard to love. Thank you for making late night runs for my frozen yogurt. Thank you for rubbing my feet almost every night! Thank you for fulfilling every dream I have ever had. Thank you for being a leader in our house, and for praying for me and the boys. Thank you for being 100% committed to me, and for your unconditional love...even on those "not so easy" days. I wouldn't want to share this life with anyone else. You and I were created to be together, and I am amazed at how the Lord has blessed us. He is SO good! I pray that He will continue to bless us. I love you. More than you could ever know. More than I tell you. More than I show you. More every day....
Love, Krix

**You both are my most favorite men! I am SO very blessed!! I thank God for you and I praise Him for ordaining our relationships....before I was ever born. Jeremiah 29:11 says...."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." In Psalm 139, the Lord says that...."All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Well, Father knows best, doesn't He?? He gave me the most incredible men and I cannot thank Him enough. I am so thankful for His plans and His promises....and I am so thankful for YOU!**

At The Moment.....

* I am enjoying a cup of coffee....
* My boys are still sleeping....(thank You, Jesus!).....
* The house is completely quiet.....
* The sun is shining, and streaming in through my windows....
* I am working on my Bible study and learning more about my Lord and Savior....
* I am overwhelmed at my list of "to do's".....
* The world is going crazy around us.....
* A plane is flying overhead.....
* My heart is heavy for those battling cancer....
* I am thanking God for the health He has bestowed upon my family....
* I am praising Him.....

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." -Psalm 118:24

**What are YOU doing at the moment??**

A Mom's Favorite Invention

Finally, I can pee in peace....not having to worry that this little stinker will be trying to unlatch the door while I still have my pants down....or trying to peek under the stall!

*Please excuse the kid's mismatched clothes!  We went straight from a pool party...to running errands all evening!

My New Toy...And Just In Time For Summer!!

Yesterday, my new camera was delivered to my door step!!  I can't wait to use it!  You can expect to see LOTS more pics on my blog!!  I got a mini-tutorial from the pro last night, but I know there is much more to learn.  It will be a matter of "trial and error," I am sure!

Today is (officially) my family's first day of summer!  Bryson is out of school and though it was hard to see him graduate from Kindergarten yesterday (pics to be posted soon)...I am excited for what summer brings.  Summer brings:

BBQ's
Ice cream
The beach
Lazy mornings
Back yard play
The park
Play dates with friends
Late nights
Evening walks
Swimming all day
Strawberries

*What does summer bring for you and your family??

"It was You who set all the boundaries of the earth; You made both summer and winter."
-Psalm 74:17

Quote of the Day...

We were in the car a bit ago, and Hudson was playing with this Leap Pad game/book thing of his.  He must have been pushing the "off" button repeatedly, because the voice kept saying, "Goodbye".....over and over and over again.  Finally, Hudson yelled...."Stop saying that, lady!"

It has been too long since I have posted anything!  I will post more later...but let me leave you with a verse....

"Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises."
-Psalm 98:4

My Son....

I tend to spend a lot of time on the computer.  Sometimes, Hudson will watch TV or play and I will "sneak" into my office!  Last week, Hudson came into my office and saw my open Bible on the desk.  He said, "Read it to me, mom."  My Bible was open to Proverbs 3 and I just love how God works.  This particular Proverb begins with...."My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart...."  (I will include the entire Proverb below).  I no longer think things are ironic....I think they're God!  I love how my two year old climbs onto my lap to hear the Word of God (he has done it more than once), and I love how my Lord works- and that His Word would be open to a passage directed at "My son...."  He's SO amazing!  And...what's better is that Hudson sat still and listened to me read the entire Proverb!

Proverbs 3:

My Son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands;

For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart,

[And] so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct [fn] your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.

It will be health to your flesh, [fn] And strength [fn] to your bones.

Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;

So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction;

For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son [in whom] he delights.

Happy [is] the man [who] finds wisdom, And the man [who] gains understanding;

For her proceeds [are] better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.

She [is] more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

Length of days [is] in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.

Her ways [are] ways of pleasantness, And all her paths [are] peace.

She [is] a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy [are all] who retain her.

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens;

By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.

My son, let them not depart from your eyes-- Keep sound wisdom and discretion;

So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.

Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;

For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do [so].

Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give [it]," When [you have] it with you.

Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety's sake.

Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm.

Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways;

For the perverse [person is] an abomination to the LORD, But His secret counsel [is] with the upright.

The curse of the LORD [is] on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just.

Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.

The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.

What a Boy Wants...

Today, I asked Hudson what he wants for his birthday.  He will be three on June 27th!  This is what he said: "Cars and mouthwash.....blue mouthwash!"

Later, I asked him again and he said, "I told you....mouthwash!"

Well, at least this will be easy to take care of!!
